Normally this isn't my kind of thread, but I checked my phone during halftime of the Mavs/OKC game and saw a tweet saying it was out. I then ran to my computer to find a link, and find a link I did.

Is GTU still lame about posting links? I feel like it is, so get at me if you want it, or find it yourself.

Goddamnit, Nate! I was going to wait until my preorder vinyls came in the mail and open it up giggling like a kid on Christmas. Now I'll probably give in eventually and download it.

I've listened to it about 5 times now.

It's not nearly as good at FEFA because I believe it lacks memorable hooks.

However it's still evocative of the same sort of emotional colorings and solitude and plaintive introspection.

I like it but I'm let down.

I'm not sure if anything could have lived up to the expectations we all had for new material.
And say why it never worked for me.
Something to do with violence
A long way back, and wrong rewards,
And arrogant eternity.

you guys had expectations? maybe i'm jaded, but i always just assume that people can't make awesome stuff the way they did before, and then sometimes i'm pleasantly surprised. i think my negative outlook makes me a happier person.

It's grown on me a little bit more. But there are no gut wrenching hooks like on Flume, Skinny Love, etc. to be found

I'm not going to lie, this is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally starting to grow on me. It isn't and couldn't be FEFA, but it fits really nicely in his catalogue of work with DeYarmond Edison and his solo Justin Vernon stuff. I think FEFA was a beautiful anomaly that we won't see again, and that's a damn shame, but that doesn't make the rest of his work complete shit...
