Mostly financial differences. One side of the state makes it's money mostly from farming, the other side is much more varied. Although, at the moment there aren't a whole lot of jobs available. This creates an issue with how tax dollars are spent and what sort of interests are protected in the federal government.what are the different issues? surely the different landscapes don't make for differing views on human rights issues do they? like the farmers are for gay marriage and the mountain side isn't? or one side likes healthcare reform and the other doesn't?
I can't think of anything to say,
Except, I think it's marvelous...

If you can't even rule a state, how on earth are you supposed to rule a country?Mostly financial differences. Montana does affect the real world in some ways. We have a huge lumber industry, lots of farms that add to the nationwide surplus, and a very active railway system that benefits the entire country. Subsidiary farms affect the national deficit, and our state has proven to be innovative in a couple of different capacities, including our marijuana trafficking and our resistance to a strong federal government.

Some of the larger sites like Reddit and Wikipedia seem to think that having a daylong blackout is going to be an effective form of protest. In fact, they're both having one today. However, it seems to me that this is more of an awareness tactic than anything.
Yeah, and it seems regular visitors here already know about it so I'd rather not shut things down. And the non-regular users are getting here via, most likely, google, which has its own message.

Wikipedia is down as a protest.
You can access Wikipedia through the instructions on this site:

and apparently the mobile site is still running.

there seems to be an objective reality that a determined individual can penetrate if he is willing to challenge the confining chimeras of markets and machines

I'm sure it's only a matter of time for those other sites though.
