Nah. Alien builds the suspense. You hardly see the alien throughout the film. It freaks you out.

Aliens is an awesome movie but its not a master class in horror. Its an action movie with one or two scary bits thrown in.

Agreed. Alien is more of a thriller, while Aliens is an action movie.

They're both fantastic.

I don't generally as a rule like horror. I'm a big cowardy custard, y'see. The Exorcist freaks my shit right out to this day. I like vampire movies, there's an old Christopher Lee Hammer one - Dracula: Prince of Darkness - where he doesn't say a single word throughout the entire film, just growls and hisses like an animal. Fantastic performance.

Anyhoo, I don't tend to do horror horrors, I love The Wicker Man mostest. Rosemary's Baby. The Exorcist 3 is pretty good, that's the proper sequel.

I watched the Exorcist for the first time last halloween, and it did absolutely nothing for me scarewise.
