i agree with jbone about Serj Tankian of SOAD, he is a good singer and writes some interesting lyrics too - "eating seeds as a passtime activity"

As do I.

u only recognised him as the new rod stewart because of the handbags and gladregs... even rod didnt do that first... its a cover of a cover
enough ranting, the 2 most brilliant rock singers (in my biased opinion) are
robert plant - led zeppelin
james hetfield - metallica

i totally agree.

however, i also think that brian johnson is an awesome singer, even if he does sound a little wierd.

Incomplete list, and in no particular order:

Roger Daltrey (the king of gut singers!)
Paul McCartney (one of the best)
John Lennon (ditto)
Robert Plant (when he's not singing "babe, babe, babe, babe" all the time) "The Rain Song" rules
Jon Anderson (how can he still sing like he's 20? I don't get it)
Steve Tyler (before the annoying mannerisms set in)
Rod Stewart (before he started crucifying good songs)
Elton John (before he started writing crap)
Peter Gabriel (fantastic vocalist for most of his career)
Bon Scott (before he choked on his own vomit)
Brian Johnson (before his throat couldn't take any more)

Now, let's not forget the ladies:

Ann Wilson (of Heart fame) -- before the 80's and the bloating set in, she was one of rock's foremost females
Tina Turner -- 80's and troubled past aside, she kicked some ass, and no one can take that away from her
Annie Lennox I know I know, not really rock, but man she can sing......
Cher -- HA, gotcha!!!!!!!!! laugh.gif

That's it for now, will think of some more later.
