Hi all.
Doing well so far here in my neck of the woods.

#3453712 Glastonbury

Posted by dorio on 02 July 2013 - 03:00 AM

I've watched the Stones set Sunday on Youtube and judging from what I've heard  and seen of this 50 and counting tour I thought that their Glastonbury performance was far from being terrible except  for 2000 Light Years From Home (which they exhume very  rarely) clearly Mick sang in the wrong key but  the band had it right anyway. The Stones still rock and I've welcomed the return of Mister Mick Taylor even only as guest guitarist for two (sometimes three) songs in every show of this mini-tour.

#3442712 Musical Heroes, but not musicians

Posted by dorio on 31 January 2013 - 12:11 AM

My musical hero who never (really) played was my elder brother who left us suddenly in the mid 90's. He was 46.  He was my hero for introducing me to the Beatles  and the Swinging London later. He bought a lot of the singles EP and albums that were released then. He was one of the first to roam around with a Philips cassette player filled with Beatles/Who/Stones/Kinks and compilations from his records. In a country where Johnny Hallyday (not a musician either) was youth's favourite singer  my brother was ahead of his time.

My condolences for your aunt Penny.

Bollocks. Knew there'd be one I'd miss out.

You forget Joan, Rose, Valerie, Nancy, Maggie, Molly, and Mary.

Unity is strength. A few days ago Avaaz.org delivered a 2 442 240 million signatures "save the Internet" petition to the European Commission in Brussels the petition is still on with a new target of 3 000 000 signatures you can sign here: https://secure.avaaz...he_internet/?fp - This petition helped to raise awareness that's for sure. Avaaz just started a new petition in order to have the European Commission instruct the European Court of Justice to do a full assessment of ACTA's threats to our rights and freedoms please sign the new petition here: http://www.avaaz.org...e_to_win_eu/?fp

I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Andy Timmons Band Plays Sgt. Pepper' album.

#3406963 Sopa and Pipa bills postponed ‎

Posted by dorio on 08 January 2012 - 12:36 AM

As far as I understand all those in favor obviously work or have financial interests in the entertainment business such as cinema music television and games their argument is they lose lots of money each year and that piracy ain't good for the economy. There are those that are in favor mainly for political reasons, and those that'd support it if the current version of the bill was tweaked.

...and now that she's dead, she'll be an icon soon, and she's gonna sell truckloads of CD's.

#3366544 "BUBBLY DAN".... just some fun.

Sounds like a Jazz/Reggae/Pop fusion tune. Excellent.

#3366539 New recording, work in progress, input appreciated

With the heavy guitar sound you had in mind I predict that this chorus will be powerful. I like the vocals and the effects you use (by the way I don't think you'll need to yell it's good as it is) I also like the guitar in the background the other guitar's arpeggios and strumming and with the eloquent little solo in the end I was sold. Your plan to add basslines in the mix will make it sound even better.

Cool to see people from the past. Yes, I remember you now!

Thanks Dorio, I definitely recall you being an especially helpful poster in this section. Do you think some spacey keyboards in the verse might be a good move, or would that potentially muddy the waters? I'm kinda split on that one.

Thanks! Seems to me that the track is as spacey as can be without keyboards in the verse. And it's delicate because a potentially great chorus is under construction I think you should put your priorities on that. You have a tremendous chorus to make.

I didn't say yes or no I just said the question was silly so it got a silly reply.

and comparing moderating a forum to leadership isnt special? In a moronic kind of way?

Makes perfect sense to me (in context).

I don't like the UN either.
