#3507487 Because I Honestly Value Each and Everyone of Your Opinions

Posted by Jay Kay on 24 February 2017 - 09:13 AM

Now you make be thinking "John, this is shameless and self serving, you're just doing what all of us have done at one point and trying to get views on your mediocre music". Honestly, I think we all know that you guys don't represent or resemble a share of any market I would target. I just honestly enjoy hearing your critiques.

I'm sharing all of the demos that I used to do my record properly my first entirely solo album. Your opinions are and have always been value. Happy listening (if you so choose so)!

The wife and I are expecting our first future musician this September. It may be a little early to start imposing my own ambitions on it, but I'll be damned if I'm not excited to see it try. Haven't told the folks yet, since they live a couple hundred miles away and we wanted to tell them in person, but I figured this little place wouldn't bother too much. Some of you are parents, and in my experience parents are never found with lack of parenting advice, so spill away if you want.

I made another song, I know we have a forum for this and all, but really....what's the point?  My wife went out with the baby last night for a meal with her parents, so I recorded this song - relatively pleased with it.

I think it's spoken as "C add 9" or something like that?

I don't think it comes after G either

#3507359 "Random Picture" Thread

A thing of a person of a place of a planet etc:

Mmmyep. Clearly I need to get out there and meet a nice raver chick and not settle down like I have been for...ever. Anyway. Enjoy my psuedo-tasteful artistic excursions into quasi-naughty territory. I get any more obvious than this and I might have to get "I AM ARTIST!" tattooed on my forehead.

#3507659 Apple vs. PC

Posted by TheNewSponge on 03 March 2017 - 04:17 PM

Based on my own anecdotal evidence, I don't get the longevity argument. Previous $500 PC laptop lasted 5 years without a (serious) problem, current $600 PC desktop going on 6, which I still play video games on (in a fairly low resolution, and the speakers turned way up to drown out the wheezing, but still), current $600 laptop going on 5. Wife has gone through probably 5 laptops in the same 10 year period, but she most of those died due to coffee being poured directly into them or just dropping them all over.. But then, her Macbook Pro (or whatever) from 2002 probably made it to  2008 or 2009 before dying, but she paid $4000 for it...

So maybe just take care of it, whatever it is

#3507631 Apple vs. PC

Posted by Graeme! Yes, Graeme! on 02 March 2017 - 05:54 PM

I have been PC all my life. However, Windows 8 was fucking trash. 10 is better, but I still don't like it. Based on what I use my computer for - media, both recording and consuming, I am seriously considering a change to Apple for my next computer. Everyone I know who has one has had theirs for years before needing a new one - way longer than any desktop or laptop I have had. If only they weren't so pricey.

#3507339 Pre Gig Nerves

Posted by chasyd on 17 February 2017 - 07:45 AM

So tonight is my first gig in over 5 years and a couple of hours ago I had a wave of nerves.  I'd completely forgotton about that nervous excitement feeling and I'm quite enjoying it lol.  I remember going from my first ever gig where I was literally sick beforehand to my last gig where it was just another gig.

So any interesting/comical gig nerve stories?

#3507305 Some cool photos

Posted by sixgunsound on 15 February 2017 - 11:28 AM

Yesterday at 10am the Toronto Raquetteball Club building caught on fire. It was a 6 alarm blaze and required over 100 firefighters; it was "under control" as of 5am today. Toronto Fire Services released some cool photos - because of the building's location it was difficult to get ladders up around it. The firefighters reportedly were in adjacent condos firing their hoses from balconies!

Grand Tour is pretty good.. except for the American and the dying celebrity gag..

But I find myself wishing really that they'd just drop the studio "tent" parts and just go on a bunch of road trip adventures instead.

congrats you should christen her rainer, sparky or pyro

Thanks Woodster. I like pyro, although maybe Pyra because she's a girl.
