Metallica is awesome, and Rob played all the rehearsels for St. Anger. He is a great bassist, but look at the other bassists that Metallica once had. Cliff Burton, a legend...and nothing less. Then Jason Newstead...a genius and an underrated bassist. That guy had talent. Rob will be great in Metallica...and you will see his talent at its fullest on the upcoming album. I guarantee it!

Ok, in the movie Desperados, the music Antonio Banderas (sp) is playing (or probably not really playing) but what style of music is that called? Also, what would be a good beginner tune to start learning that stuff?

Thnx in advance! guitar.gif

Mexicano?..., but for starters, a good tune is fade to black by metallica. Also, House of the Rising Sun is a good tune that really sounds awesome on an acoustic. Also, you can try Whats this life for by Creed.

You don`t need a cloth to play cleany. Sounds to me like you should work on your muting skills.

I agree with you!

OK, so i'm new to guitar.. self teaching,etc.. and i've been playing acoustic for around 4 months or so now... not an expert.. but i can play... i just bought a new electric guitar, and need help setting up the settigns.. treble, bass, middle, gain, etc.. thx..

For clean sounds, have the bass at 75%, the treble at the same level, and the mids somewhere close to half way up. If your amp has reverb set it somewhere close to 4.

For metal riffs, set your amp the following way:
Bass all the way, Treble at 75%, little or no mids, and the reverb at 3 or lower. If you want a lead metal tone, use the mids at a higher setting.

Go with an Ibanes TR-15 15 watt amp, the beginning volume levels are quite low, and the price is $75 used, 99.99 brand new. You get an extreme quality out of the amps. They have great distortion and a winderful clean channel. Good Luck!
