Yes warming a tube amp is priority # 1 , then idle it on standyby before you cut her off for a few minutes.also short playing times will take a little life from the tubes, 20 to 30 minutes is the least I ever play my tube amps., and you can drain the caps of exrat charge by turning amp off and then flicking standy by back on and strumming your guitar ,you will hear the strings as they fade to zero sound , but dont do it every time you cut the amp off.Greg.
