I hate guitar stores

So I bring in my guitar (Standard strat) about a week ago to have them install a new GraphTech nut. I went in today to pick it up and all looked well until i actually played the guitar. Seemingly, the tech who did the job and set it up did something very wrong because the second i started playing i could feel how off he was with slotting the nut and string spacing. I practically can't even fret the high E string without it slipping right off the fretboard. In fact, every string feels to me like its been shifted slightly to the right, so I can't even recognize the feel of my guitar anymore.
Fortunately there's a 30 day warranty on the repair but, man, I'm really sketched out by all this because when I bring it back to them tomorrow to complain, I don't really have a way of making sure its done properly the second time around. I don't exactly trust these guys so much anymore. Most of all I am worried that I will never get that feel back that I had for my guitar, which I have been playing for 10 years. On top of that, I'll have to spend another week or so without it again. This is all very frustrating
Anyone have similar horror stories from guitar repairs?

So I just bought a keyboard the other day and my plan is to teach myself to play in my free time.
Can any of the piano players on this board suggest some piano literature or other resources that I can work off of?
