Acoustic Guitar cracking

13 August 2010 - 09:49 AM

Wow - I remember my password for here! Also, a lot of familiar user names. *Waves* Hi all!

Looking for a bit of advice, I know Adds used knock about, and was training to be a luthier (he's probably finished at this stage!).. An old basement apartment of mine flooded a few years ago at this stage, and along with destroying hard drives, a desktop PC, and just about anything within 1ft of floor level (meh), it also got into the case of my Gibson.
The case itself is grand, and the guitar certainly isn't in bad shape, but it's developed some unfortunate cracking around the base over the past year or two, see pics:

Much better, higher res pic...
Any ideas as to what would be involved in fixing this, and what kind of would be involved? Based in Ireland, but i'd imagine costings would be similar to the UK (well, perhaps a little inflated!!)
Thanks!
Cian
